This is my personal experience based on interactions with the DEA in a time of need when I was being subjected to harm. I put strikethroughs the core values which were not exhibited at any time over the ordeal. This does not imply that agent at the DEA do not exhibit these core values. However, I am not aware of one. No one exhibit courage, respect and service to the citizens, or even the rule of law and upholding that rule of law. They were more focused, it seems on their mission and everything else that this agency purports to value was left of of consideration and practice over a multi-year period. I take no pleasure.
Nevertheless, given DEA agents past history of having the cartel pay for its hookers in Colombia, I would now and forever support salary increases for the DEA so that would not stand in the way of them failing to pay for their hookers. If you are interested in what occurred, here is the DOIG report. DOJ OIG Releases Report on the Handling of Sexual Harassment and Misconduct Allegations by the Department’s Law Enforcement Components. The head of the DEA resigned after that scandal which you can read about here, at the Guardian, DEA chief to resign in wake of agency’s Colombian sex scandal.
